Time to Go (work in progress)

A story about the multi-cultural relationship between Kyllie and Abhi. It is narrated in a circular tale that spirals upward, while it ends where it begins and begins where it ends. They met online and found, despite their cultural and political differences, that they had a lot in common. Their first call went on for hours, as though they were lost friends reconnecting and catching up with their lives’ journeys.

They manage the challenges of their families’ different culture, the confrontation that Abhi has to work through with the blatant corruption in his profession and navigate the impending reality that one of them must leave and the other must stay. While their time together passes, their relationship deepens.

They spiral up to a new level of relationship as Kyllie learns how to work on the timeline, releases herself from the judgment that she didn’t do what she thought was needed and learns that their connection is ongoing. Her journey from grief to gratitude.
